I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! I did (thank you Will Manso)! In the spirit of love and in this Valentine’s Edition, I wanted to introduce you to a member of Brigade Bookkeeping who is LOVED by all. Our employee spotlight this month is on staff accountant, Jenny Castillo.
Jenny started working at Brigade Bookkeeping in March of last year. She graduated from Florida International University (FIU) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and is currently working toward a Masters Degree in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). She is a whiz with numbers. In high school, Jenny helped tutor her friends in math. Now that’s a good friend to have!
Jenny is married to Rolando and is Mom to 16-year-old Ray, nine-year-old Rolando and seven-year-old Sophia. Whenever she’s not at the office or at one of her children’s football, baseball or figure skating events, she tries to relax by the pool (which doesn’t happen much).
As a full-time accountant and Mom of three, Jenny is our resident expert on work/life balance. “Balancing my career and family is not an easy task,” she says. “Both require a lot of nurturing and attention,” she adds. Jenny says the key is establishing a routine, maintaining organization and most importantly, having a strong support system. She loves having a big family and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Speaking of family, Jenny is no stranger to business. Her in-laws are the owners of Marathon Seafood in Marathon, Florida. She even lived in the Keys for two years before the warehouse was relocated to Medley. The company services restaurants and hotels throughout South Florida with fresh and frozen seafood products.
We love Jenny and hope you do too! Speaking of love, what do you think this Mom of three did on Valentine’s Day? She got together with family for a big potluck dinner of course. “We always have a great time with great company!” Jenny says. We’re glad to have Jenny in our company and hope you love her as much as we do!
